CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team opens its 2001 fall season on October 21 at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass. The Cavaliers also compete on October 28 at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J., and host the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville on November 11.
Virginia finished seventh at the 2001 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. The Cavaliers have finished in the top seven in each of the five NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. UVa finished fourth in 1997, third in 1998, second in 1999, and third in 2000. Virginia women’s rowing also claimed Atlantic Coast Conference titles in 2000 and 2001.
