CHARLOTTESVILLE — Jon Oliver, an administrator in the athleticdepartment at Washington State University since 1995, has been namedsenior associate athletics director at the University of Virginia. Theannouncement was made by UVa Athletics Director Craig Littlepage. Thesenior associate athletics director position has been vacant sinceLittlepage was named Virginia’s athletics director in August.
Oliver is currently associate athletics director for externalaffairs at Washington State. He joined the Washington State athleticdepartment as a compliance intern and has served as director ofcompliance, assistant athletics director for business and compliance, and associateathletics director for finance and facilities development at the school.He also has several years of business experience as an owner,operator and research assistant.
“Jon Oliver is a talented and creative administrator, and hasdone a wonderful job in all facets of his work at Washington StateUniversity,” Littlepage said. “He has advanced quickly in his administrative careerand the fact he was a student-athlete is beneficial. I count on Jon to helpbuild on our success at the University of Virginia in working with ourcoaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff.”
Oliver earned a bachelor’s degree from Boise State Universityand a law degree from the University of Idaho. He played basketball at BoiseState and was co-captain of the team.

My experience atWashington State allowed me to grow as a person and I can never show properappreciation for the opportunity to be a part of a tremendous period ofgrowth in the athletic department. I believe the foundation has beenestablished for Washington State to sustain what has been accomplishedin recent years, specifically in the areas of game day experience andfacility enhancement.”
Oliver will assume his new position at Virginia by December 1.He and his wife, November, have an 18-month-old son Dante.
