Chapel Hill, N.C. – The Virginia Cavaliers men’s tennis team competed in the first round of the ITA Region II Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C. Stephen Nolen and Jason Romesburg got things started off today.
In a first round qualifying match, Nolen fell to Charleston Southern’s Soufien Rechag, 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3 while Romesburg dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to William & Mary’s Jeff Kader.
Nolen will compete tomorrow, teaming with Michael Duquette in the first round of the doubles main draw. Duquette will also compete in the main draw of first round singles competition on Friday morning.
