Cavalier Women's Soccer to Travel to Penn State for NCAA Third Round

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 23 Virginia women’s soccer team will travel to No. 12 Penn State for a NCAA Tournament third round contest this weekend. The game will be on Sunday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Jeffrey Field on the Penn State campus. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals the following weekend.

The Cavaliers advanced to the third round after a pair of wins this past weekend in Morgantown, W. Va. On Friday, Virginia downed Dayton 3-2 in first round play. On Sunday, the Cavaliers upset the tournament’s No. 5 seed West Virginia 1-0 in the second round.

Penn State advanced to the third round with two wins in College Park, Md. In the first round, the Nittany Lions defeated Princeton 2-0 before defeating Maryland 2-1 on Sunday.

Tickets for the game are $7 for adults and $3 for students and children. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
