Charlottesville, Va. ? The UVa women’s tennis team returns home for the first time since Jan. 26, as they host Dartmouth at the Boar’s Head Inn Tennis Center at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers have won three of four spring matches, and are coming off an impressive weekend on an Ivy League road trip, picking up a win over Princeton and a hard fought battle at Penn on Sunday.

On top of that, three Cavalier players entered the ITA National Rankings this week. Jennifer Tuchband, who normally competes at No. 2 singles, moved up to No. 1 to replace Henriette Williams, who was out of command due to illness. Tuchband knocked off the No. 40 and No. 24 players in the country, and entered the ITA National Rankings this week at No. 51. Tuchband is now 9-4 on the season, and unbeaten at No. 1 singles.

Amy O’Donnell, who moved up from No. 3 to No. 2, also entered the national rankings this week, placing herself at No. 122 following a pair of wins as well. O’Donnell is 8-2 on the season, after rallying back for two victories last weekend, including a win over No. 95 Sanela Kunovac of Penn, a match where O’Donnell came back from a triple match point for the victory. Freshman Marta Bechliwanis, who leads the team with 12 victories, enters the rankings this week at No. 138. She is one of six ACC freshmen ranked by the ITA.

In addition to Sunday’s match with Dartmouth, looking ahead, the Cavaliers travel to Miami, Fla., where they will take on Boston University (March 9) and Miami (March 11), before returning home to take on Florida State on March 17.
