Winston-Salem, N.C. – The UVa women’s tennis team concluded its 2002 regular season with a 5-2 loss at No. 4 Wake Forest. Four of the last six Cavalier opponents have been ranked in the top 10. The Cavaliers are now 11-9 on the season, as they prepare for the 2002 ACC Championships.

Jennifer Tuchband won her first ACC match of the year, as she defeated Maren Haus at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 7-5. It marks Tuchband’s 11th win overall on the season. Christine Kim won her third match in a row, as she beat Aimee Smith at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Kim joins fellow senior Amy O’Donnell, Henriette Williams and Dora Bechliwanis as the other Cavaliers to win at least three ACC matches this spring.

The Cavaliers conclude their 2002 regular season. Up next is the ACC Tournament, which will be held this coming weekend at the Millbrook Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C. Official pairings will be announced by the ACC later this week.
