Ribbon Board Installation Photo Gallery
The recently renovated Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison, III Field at Scott Stadium is undergoing another exciting upgrade for the upcoming 2003 season. Five years after the installation of Hoo Vision, two LED ribbon boards are being installed into the stadium and will be operational for the Cavaliers’ first home game versus Duke on August 30th. Each ribbon board is 3 feet high and 150 feet long and runs along the east and west sides of the fascia between the upper and lower decks.
Scott Stadium is thought to be the first collegiate football venue to have the LED ribbon boards, which will be used for new and improved crowd interactive graphics, sponsor messages, and other general stadium information. The technology was purchased from OptoTech, the same manufacturer of the Hoo Vision video board. The main goal of the installation is to “improve game day atmosphere” according to Rich Klein, General Manager of Cavalier Sports Marketing. With these boards, new promotions, and the enthusiasm surrounding the 2003 Cavaliers, game days at Scott Stadium are sure to be more exciting than ever.
