KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Marques Hagans threw three touchdown passes and WaliLundy ran for two scores and threw for a third as Virginia beat WesternMichigan 59-16 on Saturday.
Hagans, filling in for injured starter Matt Schaub, went 12-of-20 and alsoran for 68 yards. Schaub separated his right shoulder in the Cavaliers’season-opening win over Duke.
Virginia (2-1) looked nothing like the befuddled team that lost 31-7 atSouth Carolina on Sept. 6. The Cavaliers were ranked 15th entering that gamebut afterward dropped out of the Top 25.
Chad Munson went 21-of-40 for 197 yards for Western Michigan (1-2). He threwone touchdown pass but was intercepted twice and had both returned for scores.
Lundy ran for 121 yards on 26 carries. All but 7 of his yards came in thefirst half, and he scored both his rushing touchdowns before halftime.
His first TD came on a 7-yard run up the middle to give Virginia a 14-3 leadwith less than a minute left in the opening quarter.
A 14-yard fumble return by Cavaliers cornerback Jermaine Winborne set upLundy’s second score, a 1-yard run with less than two minutes before halftime.

The Cavaliers scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and led 52-10entering the final period.
Cornerback Almondo Curry started Virginia’s third-quarter scoring with a23-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Lundy’s touchdown pass came with about three minutes left in the period.After taking a handoff from Hagans, Lundy tossed an 18-yarder to OttowaAnderson, who was alone in the end zone.
The Cavaliers’ final score of the third came on a 9-yard TD pass from Hagansto Brandon Isaiah.
Virginia’s first score of the game came on an 11-yard touchdown pass fromHagans to Art Thomas.
