For the second time this season, University of Virginia’s Will Christian was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week following his 6th place finish at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, NC over the weekend.
Christian was the first league runner to cross the finish line with a time of 25:55.3, leading Virginia to a fifth place overall finish in the event. The Cavalier men were the first ACC team in the final standings, defeating #14 N.C. State and #27 Duke.
Christian, a Great Mills, Md. native, and a junior at the University of Virginia, earned his first honor as the ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week earlier in the season after his first place finish at the Lou Onesty Invitational on September 13, 2003. Christian crossed the finish line with a time of 24.28.90, leading the Cavaliers to a third place finish overall in the event.
