BLACKSBURG, Va – The University of Virginia women’s tennis team continued their strong play at the ITA Regional Championships Saturday at Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers had three singles players and one doubles team advance to the round of 16.

In singles play, all three of Virginia’s seeded players advanced to the round of 16. Kristen James (Clifton, Va.) and Mariko Fritz-Krockow (Fairfax, Va.), both seeded No. 9-16, won a pair of matches to advance, as did Lauren Bruch (Lake Forest, Ill.), a No. 17-32 seed.

In doubles play, the team of Bruch and Fritz-Krockow, seeded 9-16, won a second round match to advance.

The action continues Sunday at Virginia Tech.
