Cavaliers To Compete in ACC Championships

On Saturday, November 1, 2003, the Cavalier men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the ACC Cross Country Championships at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. The men’s 8K race will start at 10:00 followed by the women’s 6K race at 11:00.
At the ACC Championships last year, the men’s team placed 3rd. The Cavaliers, who have been ranked as high as 15th this season, will be led by Will Christian and Walton Kingsbery. Earlier this season the men defeated NC State, Duke, Florida State, and North Carolina at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, NC on September 26th. NC State is currently ranked 17th.
At the ACC Championships last year, the women’s team placed 3rd. The Cavaliers, who have been ranked as high as 20th this season, will be led by Angie Saterstad and Jane Maxwell. Earlier this season the women defeated #24 William and Mary and # 30 Toledo at the 2003 NCAA Pre-National meet in Waterloo, Iowa on October 18th. NC State is currently ranked 3rd, followed by #5 North Carolina.
