Virginia's Katie Jo Gerfen Named to STX-NFHCA All-Region Team

Virginia field hockey captain Katie Jo Gerfen (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was named to the STX-NFHCA All-South Region First Team today, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association. Gerfen, who was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team earlier this year, started all 20 games for the Cavaliers and ranked second on the team in scoring with 7 goals and 9 assists. Gerfen led the Cavaliers with four game-winning goals and had two game-winning assists. She was previously named to the All-South Region second team in 2001.
