CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The 11th-ranked University of Virginia men’s swimming and diving team will host 12th-ranked Tennessee on Saturday (January 10) at noon at the UVa Aquatic and Fitness Center in what promises to be an exciting dual meet. The Volunteers hold a 5-1 edge in the all-time series.
Tennessee improved to 5-1 all-time against the Cavaliers with a 126-117 victory last season in Knoxville. The meet was tied at 113-113 heading into the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. The Vols won the event to earn the victory in the meet.
The Cavalier men are currently ranked 11th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Dual Meet Top 25 Poll and stand at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. The swimming team has not competed since finishing third in the Texas A&M Invitational November 21-23.
Tennessee stands at 2-0 on the season and last competed in the Nike Cup Meet in Chapel Hill November 20-22. The Vols won the meet with 971 points.
