Huffman Named Finalist for Soccer Buzz Player of the Year

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia midfielder Sarah Huffman (Flower Mound, Texas) was one of 12 players named by Soccer Buzz Magazine as finalists for their National Player of the Year award the publication announced Monday.
Huffman has been vital on both ends of the field for the Cavaliers this season, who set school records with 62 goals scored and just 13 goals allowed. She was named the 2004 ACC Defensive Player of the Year in addition to first team All-ACC honors. Offensively, she scored four goals and had a school record 14 assists this season.
The Cavaliers finished the 2004 season with a 17-3-2 record and won the program’s first ACC Championship.
Soccer Buzz will name its 2004 National Player of the Year in December.
