GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Virginia fourth-year swimmer Luke Anderson (Charlottesville, Va./Bolles School) has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week as announced Monday (November 15). Anderson garners the award for the second time this season and the eighth time in his career.

Anderson, who was also named the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week on November 1, led the 10th-ranked Cavaliers to a 140-97 win over Georgia Tech on Friday (November 12) in Atlanta, as he won a pair of individual events and also swam a leg on a winning Virginia relay. Anderson clocked NCAA provisional qualifying times in winning the 50 free and 100 free. His time of 20.20 in the 50 free established a new Georgia Tech pool record. Anderson won the 100 free with a time of 44.69. Both times are the best in the ACC this season. Anderson also swam the anchor leg on UVa’s 200 medley relay that clocked a winning time of 1:32.35.

UVa improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the ACC with the victory. The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to action on Saturday (November 20) when they host South Carolina at 1:00 p.m. at the UVa Aquatic and Fitness Center.
