The Director of Broadcasting and play-by-playvoice for the University of Virginia has been selected as the 2004-05Sportscaster of the Year in the state of Virginia. Mac McDonald, whoalso serves as co-host of Charlottesville Radio Group WINA morningshow, was awarded the honor on a statewide ballot by his peers bythe National Association of Sportscasters and SportswritersAssociation in Salisbury, North Carolina.
McDonald, who is in his 9th season with the Cavaliers, is also host ofhis own charity golf tournament that has raised over $200,000 in fouryears for the UVA Children’s Medical Center.
