This weekend, the men and women will travel to Penn State for the National Invitational held at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. The meet runs from Friday at 5:30pm to Saturday night.

Then Men are led by Kellen Blassingame. Last week, at the Father Diamond Invitational, Blassingame won the 500m. This week, Blassingame will look to score in the 400 meter dash as this is his first time this season in that event. Other key contributors include David Sullivan, Soren Lindner, McGavock Dunbar, and distance sensation Will Christian. David Sullivan will compete in the long jump for the first time this season and will be joined by Shadion Buckley. Sullivan will also compete in the pole vault, an event that he will likely score well along with Greg Blair. Soren Lindner will compete in the 3,000 meter run along with Christian, both of whom had great cross country seasons. Ryan Foster will also compete with the other two in the 3,000 meter run. McGavock Dunbar will compete in his best event, the 800 meter run, along with Jordan Orr, and Zach Davis, who placed third in the 500m dash last week. Dunbar will also run the mile along with Walton Kingsbery and Alex Tatu. Isi Azeke will compete in the 60 meter hurdles, along with Scott Robinson and Gemayel Hazard. Kevin McHale will run the 1,000 meter run. The 5,000m will feature Andrew Dumm, Jeff Eggleston, Andrew Filachek, Dave Vitto, and Matt Gutridge.

The Women are led by Meggie Schuelke and first year Janne’a Bridgeford. Bridgeford is coming off of a first place showing in the 60 meter dash and second place in the 200 meter run. Bridgeford will compete in the 60 meter dash with Tomika Ferguson, Tosin Oluwole, and Tiffany Roberts. Bridgeford will also compete in the 200m with Tiffany Roberts. Meggie Schuelke continues to dominate the high jump this season, taking first in last week’s competition. Rachel Marks will join Schuelke in the high jump. Cross country star Cheryl Carr will run the 5,000 meter, along with Laura Hodges. Emily Harrison will look to place in the 3,000 meter. The Cavaliers will boast Erin Crawford, Ashley Gore, and Tiffany Roberts in the 400 meter dash. Gore and Crawford will also run the 500 meter dash. Sara Ensrud will be the only Cavalier in the 800 meter run. Huma Husain will run the 1,000 meter and Shannon Hawrylo will run the mile. Collette DeBenedetto will compete in the long jump. Kathryn Pettine will focus on the pole vault. The 60 meter hurdles will feature Keshia Ashe, Janine Holman, and Briana Smith. Katie Tershel and Tomika Ferguson will take on the triple jump.
