CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 10 ranked Virginia men’s tennis team continues its season-opening five match homestand Saturday night as it hosts No. 44 Minnesota at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.
The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and admission is free. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive a t-shirt.
The Cavaliers (1-0) are coming of a season opening 7-0 victory over No. 59 Old Dominion on Wednesday night. Saturday’s match is the season opener for Minnesota.
Virginia is paced by a school-record five players currently ranked in singles by the ITA. Doug Stewart (Malibu, Calif.) is ranked No. 19, Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) is No. 22, Rylan Rizza (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) is No. 36, Marko Miklo (Bratislava, Slovakia) is No. 63, and Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) is No. 104.
Virginia continues the homestand next week when it hosts No. 25 Tennessee on February 5 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.
