TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Virginia senior Kevin O’Connell (Potomac, Md.) continued his sub-par performance and remains among the top golfers after the second round at the Seminole Intercollegiate late Monday.

The team captain fired a one-under 71 for a four-under 140 total to tie for second.

Coastal Carolina continues to lead the field of 12 teams after carding an even 576. Central Florida is second with a 584 (+8), while Vanderbilt is third with a 589 (+13). Host Florida State jumped from eighth to fourth with a 591 (+15). Virginia is tied with Texas A&M for fifth place with a 592 (+16) overall.

East Tennessee States’ Ryhs Daviestook over sole possession of first place with an eight-under 136 after firing a five-under 67 in the second round. Central Florida’s Andreas Hoegberg is tied with O’Connell for second, while North Carolina’s Martin Ureta is fourth with a three-under 141.

UVa junior Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) is tied for 27th with a 149 (+5), while junior Carter Henderson (Nashville, Tenn.) follows with a 152 (+8). Sophomore Daniel McGurk (Woodlands, Texas) shot a 154 (+10), and sophomore Mark Perry (Atlanta, Ga.) finished with a 157 (+13). Playing as an individual, sophomore Dan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) shot a 162 (+18).

Play at the Seminole Intercollegiate concludes on Tuesday, March 8 at the par 72 Golden Eagle Country Club.
