UVA's Second Varsity Eight Named ACC Crew Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team’s second varsity eight crew is the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week for its performance in the ACC/Big Ten Dual Regatta last Saturday (March 26) in Columbus, Ohio.
Virginia’s second varsity eight finished with a time of 6:36.8 to defeat the University of Michigan (6:44.6) in the morning competition. The UVa crew had a time of 6:30.6 to defeat Ohio State University (6:35.4) in the afternoon competition. The regatta was held at the Griggs Reservoir on the Scioto River.
Virginia’s second varsity eight was comprised of coxswain Launa Forehand, Catelyn Coyle, Crystal MacLeod, Libby McCann, Andria Haneman, Heather Gardner, Kim Southern, Katie Yrazabal and Chrissie Monaghan.
The UVa women’s rowing team hosts Michigan State University at the Rivanna Reservoir on Saturday (April 2). The regatta is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and is the first of two home competitions for the Cavaliers this spring.
