Virginia Varsity Eight Ranked Sixth In Coaches Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team’s first varsity eight is ranked sixth in the nation in the first regular season USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. The Virginia crew was also ranked sixth in the preseason poll.
Princeton holds the number one spot, followed by Yale, Ohio State, Brown, and Michigan. New rankings are released each Wednesday and can be viewed at www.row2k.com.
Virginia hosts Michigan State University at the Rivanna Reservoir on Saturday (April 2). Michigan State’s varsity eight is ranked 11th in the country. The regatta is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and is the first of two home competitions for the Cavaliers this spring.
