Greensboro, N.C. – University of Virginia attackman John Christmas was named the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for his play in the Cavaliers’ 10-2 win over Maryland last Saturday (April 2).

Christmas paced the Cavalier offense with two goals and two assists for a season-high four points. By having a hand in four goals, his play was more than enough to defeat the fourth-ranked Terrapins. The effort was also the first time in two years he multi-goals and multi-assists in the same game.

The senior from Ardmore, Pa., opened the scoring after only 64 seconds elapsed on a nifty move from behind. He also scored late in the fourth quarter.

Virginia is now 7-1 this season, including 1-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers host North Carolina Saturday (April 9) at 1 pm at Klöckner Stadium.
