Charlottesville – The University of Virginia Men’s Basketball Team has revised its 2005 summer basketball camp schedule. The new schedule consists of two individual camps; an overnight session, which will be offered July 24-28 for both overnight and day campers aged 10 to 17, and a day session, which will be held August 1-4 for boys aged 7 to 17.
The team also announced that the Father-Child Camp (June 3-4), the Day Camp (June 27-30), and the Graves, Mountain Lodge Camp (July 10-14) were cancelled due to time constraints resulting from the recent coaching change.
“We are disappointed about canceling the early summer sessions, but we didn’t feel it would be possible to offer a quality camp experience with such a limited amount of time to prepare,” said Camp Director Drew Diener. “Arrangements are already being made, so we can return to a full schedule next summer.”
The existing camp sessions will include games, tournaments and contests that emphasize fundamental skills and teamwork. Camp participants will have the opportunity to learn from Cavalier coaches and players and experience the thrill of playing at University Hall. Each camper will also receive a free camp T-shirt. The cost of the July 24-28 session is $475 for overnight campers and $195 for day campers. Tuition for the August day camp is $195.
