CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s golf team will open the 2005-06 season at Tennessee’s Tournament of Champions on Sept. 12, head coach Bowen Sargent announced on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers will participate in 11 tournaments during the 2005-06 season. UVa will also compete at the 2006 ACC Championship in New London, N.C., on April 21-23.
For the third consecutive year, the Cavalier Classic will return to Charlottesville’s Birdwood Golf Course, home of the Hoos. UVa’s home event tees off on April 29-30.
The 2006 NCAA East Regional is slated for May 18-20 in Orlando, Fla., while the 2006 National Championship will be held May 31-June 3 at the Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.
The Cavaliers finished the 2005 season with a 12th-place showing at the NCAA East Regional.
