The second season of Cavalier Sports Weekly, presented by the Virginia Lottery, begins Sunday, Sept. 4. The fast-paced, half-hour program provides comprehensive coverage of Virginia Athletics. The program will also air on the new ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville, on FOX 35 Richmond and on WSET-TV ABC 13 in Danville, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.

Offensive tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson, a preseason All-American selection, will host the first show. The program will feature highlights and commentary from Virginia’s season-opening football game against Western Michigan, and a profile of senior defensive end Brennan Schmidt.

Comcast SportsNet has partnered with Virginia Athletics to air the Al Groh Report every Thursday evening. This five-minute segment features an in-depth interview with head football coach Al Groh and previews the upcoming game. Beginning Sept. 1, the Al Groh Report will air during Comcast SportsNet’s SportsNite news program at 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The segment will also air Friday mornings in the SportsRise news program.
