CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Virginia men’s tennis team concluded play at the ITA Mideast Regional Sunday by taking home the doubles title. The team of fourth-years Rylan Rizza (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Darrin Cohen (Lafayette, Calif) won the doubles title with a pair of wins on Sunday.
In the semifinals, Rizza and Cohen, seeded No. 6, downed the team of Billy Mulligan and Colin O’Brien of William & Mary 8-4. In the finals, the Cavalier duo topped the No. 2 seeded team of Joey Atas and Jonathan Stokke of Duke 8-3.
In singles, Rizza fell in the semifinals to Martin Sayer of Radford 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
