Calabasas, Calif. – Former Virginia men’s tennis All-American Brian Vahaly continued his strong play on the USTA Challenger Tour by winning last week’s event in Calabasas, Calif. It is the second singles title of the season for Vahaly on the tour.
Vahaly defeated four players ranked in the top 200 in the world rankings to capture the title, including a win over the tournament’s No. 1 seed, Justin Gimelstob, in the second round. He is currently ranked No. 147 in the world and is playing this week at the Challenger Tour event at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
