Charlottesville, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 1 in this week’s USILA/STX coaches poll. The Cavaliers received seven of eight first-place votes and 159 points, nine ahead of second-ranked Duke, who received the other first place vote.
This is the first time in two years the Cavaliers have been ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll. They were listed atop the rankings for four consecutive weeks in March of 2003.
Virginia is 8-0 this season, the best start in school history, and hosts Johns Hopkins Saturday at 1 pm at Klöckner Stadium.
