The Cavaliers took an early 1-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. The No. 11 ranked team of Kristen James (Clifton, Va.) and Lori Stern (Ojai, Calif.) posted an 8-2 win over Dasha Cherkasov and Lana Krasnopolsy at No. 1 doubles. “Today was another positive day for this team,” said Virginia head coach Mark Guilbeau. “All along we have been impressed with the effort and today was another match played at that extremely high level.”
