New London, NC – At 5:10 p.m. rain suspended play during the second round of the ACC Men’s Golf Championships at the Old North State Club in New London, N.Y. It was the second suspension of the day due to inclement weather. Virginia was one of just two teams to complete their second round.
The Cavaliers shot 2-over 290 for a 36-hole total of 7-over 583. Virginia is in 10th place on the suspended team leader board. Boston College, the other team to complete its round, is 11th at 613.
Carter Henderson shot 3-under 69 during Saturday’s second round and figures among the top-10 among the individual leaders when play was halted. He stands at 4-under 140. His 69 tied his best round as a collegiate.
Clemson’s David May, who had completed 12 holes during he second round, was leading the tournament at 7-under. May was 7-under for the day. As a team, Clemson had moved to the top of the leader board at 20-under, one shot ahead of Georgia Tech. The Tigers had shot 17-under as a team when play stopped.
