Sacramento, CA – Virginia student-athlete Erin Crawford earned All-American honors as she finished fifth in the intermediate hurdles at the NCAA Track and Field Championships out in Sacramento, California. Crawford set the school record for a second consecutive time with her 56.87 in the finals today, bettering her 56.93 from yesterday. She is the second All-American for the Cavaliers at the meet as teammate Billie Jo Grant earned her second consecutive honor in the discus yesterday. As a team, the Cavaliers finished 34th nationally with seven points.
Crawford turned in a phenomenal NCAA Championships, running sub-57 in two consecutive races, the first two sub-57s in school history. She is the first Cavalier All-American in the intermediates since Angela Lee in 1998, and this marks the second consecutive year that the Cavaliers have had two All-Americans.
