The third season of the award-winning Cavalier Sports Weekly, presented by the Virginia Lottery, continues Sunday, Sept. 17th. The fast-paced, half-hour program provides comprehensive coverage of Virginia Athletics. Cavalier Sports Weekly can be seen regionally each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on Comcast SportsNet. The program will also air on the new ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville, on FOX 35 Richmond and on WSET-TV ABC 13 in Danville, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.
Junior guard Ian-Yates Cunningham will host the show. The program will feature highlights and analysis from the homecoming football game against Western Michigan, and features on sophomore linebacker Jon Copper and wide receiver Kevin Ogletree. The show will also include a special trip with the National Champion Men’s Lacrosse Team and volleyball player Melissa Caldwell’s Tip of the Week.
Comcast SportsNet has partnered with Virginia Athletics to air the Al Groh Report every Thursday evening. This five-minute segment features an in-depth interview with head football coach Al Groh and previews the upcoming game. The Al Groh Report will air during Comcast SportsNet’s SportsNite news program at 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The segment will also air Friday mornings in the SportsRise news program.
