CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team has added two home games to its 2006-07 schedule, including an additional regular-season game.
A Feb. 6 date with North Florida completes UVa’s 17-game regular-season home slate. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off. This will be the Lady Ospreys’ second season competing at the Division I level after going 11-17 last year.
The North Florida game will be included in the current season ticket package and will not result in any additional charge to season ticket holders. Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are $80 for an adult reserved seat and $65 for general admission seating. Faculty/staff, youth and senior reserved season tickets are $50 and $45 for general admission.
Fans can purchase tickets through UVa’s athletic website, www.virginiasports.com, or by calling the Cavalier Ticket Office at 800-542-UVA1 (8821) or 434/924-UVA1 (8821). The ticket office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are also available at the box office windows in Bryant Hall at the Stadium.
The Cavaliers play their first contest in the new John Paul Jones Arena on Oct. 31 when they host Team Concept in an exhibition game. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the game.
Virginia plays its first regular season home game in JPJA on Sunday, Nov. 12 when the Cavaliers host longtime intra-state rival Old Dominion. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Virginia starts the season on the road on Nov. 10 at Rhode Island. Last year UVa posted a 20-12 record and advanced to the third round of the Women’s NIT.
