Devvarman Falls in Semifinals of All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Virginia junior Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) had his run at the 2006 ITA All-American Championships come to an end Saturday in the semifinals. The tournament featured a majority of the top players in the nation.

Devvarman, seeded No. 4, opened Saturday’s play with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win over Luke Shields of Boise State. However, later in the day, Devvarman was defeated in the semifinals by top seeded John Isner of Georgia, 6-2, 7-6 (5).

The tournament concludes on Sunday on the campus of Tulsa.
