John Millen Named ACC Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior John Millen was named ACC men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week conference officials announced on Monday. Millen won three individual events to help lead the Cavaliers to wins over Clemson, Penn State and Virginia Tech in a quad meet last weekend.

Millen won the 1000 Free (9:19.30), 200 Free (1:39.31) and the 500 Free (4:28.04) in the meet. His time in the 200 Free is tops in the ACC so far this season, while his marks in both the 500 and 1000 Free rank second in the conference this season.

The honor is the first of Millen’s career and the first of the season for the Cavaliers.

The Virginia men’s (3-0, 2-0 ACC) and women’s (2-1, 2-0 ACC) swimming and diving teams will return to action this Saturday as they host Georgia Tech. The meet begins at 1 p.m. at the Aquatic and Fitness Center and admission is free.
