THIS WEEK
Virginia closes out its three-game week at Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 28. SunSports will televise the game, beginning at 2 p.m., from the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

The Cavaliers then return home to host top-ranked Duke on Friday, Feb. 2 at John Paul Jones Arena. The game will be televised live by the Regional Sports Network at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE
The Seminoles, under the guidance of 10th-year head coach Sue Semrau, stand 15-5 overall and 4-1 in ACC play after a 73-60 loss to No. 1 Duke on Jan. 25. Senior guard Alicia Gladden is the team scoring leader with 13.7 ppg, while sophomore center Britany Miller follows with 11.8 ppg. Freshman forward Jacinta Monroe is the rebounding leader with 6.2 rpg.

SERIES VS. SEMINOLES
Virginia holds a 27-6 series edge over Florida State since the teams’ first meeting in 1990. Last season, FSU swept the two-game ACC series, winning 60-46 in Tallahassee and 67-58 in Charlottesville.

LAST OUTING
Virginia didn’t spoil the return of NC State head coach Kay Yow as the Cavaliers dropped a 71-60 decision to the Wolfpack at Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday evening. Yow had been on a leave of absence since November to fight a reoccurrence of breast cancer.

Freshman Monica Wright (Woodbridge, Va.) led UVa with 23 points. Sophomore Lyndra Littles (Washington, D.C.) was the only other Cavalier in double digits, recording her ninth double-double of the season (14th of her career) with 16 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Overall, UVa out-rebounded State, 47-44.

IN THE STATISTICS
After 20 contests, sophomore Lyndra Littles leads the Cavaliers with 16.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Freshman Monica Wright follows with 14.4 ppg, while junior Sharneé Zoll adds 10.7 ppg and 114 assists. UVa out-scores its opponents by +3.8 points and out-rebounds its foes by +1.4 boards.
