Cavalier Women's Swimming Continues Competition at NCAA Championship Meet

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Virginia women’s swimming and diving team completed competition Friday during day two of the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
The highlight of the second day for the Cavaliers came in the final event of the day. The Cavaliers finished 15th in the 800 free relay, recording four team points. The team of Megan Evo (Beverly Hills, Mich.), Jess Lewis (Allentown, Pa.), Stephanie Glover (Raleigh, N.C.) and Jenna Harris (St. Louis, Mo.) posted a time of 7:16.78.
In the 400 I.M., Erin Corgan (Marietta, Ga.) finished 37th with a time of 4:22.02. Glover swam a season best 55.09 to finish 39th in the 100 butterfly. Also in the 100 butterfly, Evo was 46th in a time of 55.76. Lewis was 36th in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.49, while Harris took 50th place in a season-best time of 1:49.33. Mei Christensen (Reston, Va.) was 39th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.94.
With four points after day two, the Cavaliers stand in 37th place at the meet.
The meet concludes Saturday on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
