Cavalier Women's Swimming 39th at NCAA Championship Meet

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Virginia women’s swimming and diving team concluded competition Saturday during the final day of the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. The Cavaliers finished the meet with four points, which gave them 39th place at the meet.
In the 200 backstroke, Mei Christensen (Reston, Va.) finished in 28th place with a time of 1:58.57. Jess Lewis (Allentown, Pa.) swam the 100 free in a time of 49.96 for a 34th place finish. Megan Evo (Beverly Hills, Mich.) took 36th place in the 200 butterfly with a season-best time of 2:01.46.
The Cavalier 400 free relay team took 21st place at the meet. The team of Stephanie Glover (Raleigh, N.C.), Lewis, Katy Bland (Raleigh, N.C.) and Evo swam a time of 3:22.55.
The University of Minnesota will host the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships next week. Action will begin Thursday and will runs through Saturday.
