CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Tip-off for the Virginia women’s basketball WNIT second round game on Monday, March 19 has been set for 7 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
Receiving a first-round bye, the Cavaliers (17-14) will host the winner of the Charlotte (18-12)/High Point (18-11) contest. The teams meet in first round action on Thursday, March 15. The winner will travel to Charlottesville.
To order WNIT tickets, contact the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office via telephone at 1-800-542-UVA1 (542-8821) and 434-924-UVA1; in-person at the Athletics Ticket Office located in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium; or online at www.virginiasports.com.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth (aged 18 and younger), students of participating institutions, and senior citizens. Tickets will also be available on game day beginning 90 minutes prior to tip-off at the John Paul Jones Arena ticket windows located adjacent to the west (main) entrance.
The postseason appearance is Virginia’s 25th since the school started sponsoring women’s basketball in 1974. UVa has appeared in 21 NCAA tournaments, two Women’s NIT, and the 1981 AIAW tournament. Last season the `Hoos played three WNIT games, advancing to the quarterfinal round.
