Virginia Men's Tennis Suffers Loss at No. 5 Baylor

WACO, Texas – The No. 2 Virginia men’s tennis team suffered its second loss of the season, falling to No. 5 Baylor 6-1 Saturday night in Waco. The loss drops the Cavaliers’ record to 14-2 on the season.
The Bears opened the match by taking the doubles point. Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Dominic Inglot (London, England) got an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles for Virginia over Lars Poerschke and Denes Lukacs, but Baylor won at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to take the opening point.
In singles, Baylor continued its momentum by winning five of the six singles matches. The Cavaliers’ only win in singles came at the No. 2 position, where No. 15 Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) downed No. 101 Matija Zgaga 7-6, 6-1.
Virginia concludes its four-match road trip Sunday when it visits No. 12 Texas.
