Women's Tennis Falls to Wake Forest

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s tennis team (8-6, 2-3) fell to No. 14 Wake Forest (10-4, 4-2), 6-1, this afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center. The loss snaps a two-match conference winning streak for the Cavaliers.
For the second consecutive match, the Cavaliers dropped the doubles point. Jennifer Stevens (Miami, Fla.) and Amanda Rales (Bethesda, Md.) defeated Ana Jerman and Sasha Kulikova, 9-7, at the No. 2 doubles position for the lone Virginia victory.
In singles action, Rales continued her strong play by downing Christine Simpson at the No. 6 position, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
The Cavaliers next return to action on March 30 when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on the Florida State Seminoles. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.
