Virginia first-year Ayla Smith earned an entry into the prestigious Texas Relays and set her personal-best mark in the 400 hurdles in the meet. She and her fellow Cavaliers host the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson this Saturday (April 14). Virginiasports.com had the opportunity to sit down and introduce Ayla to Virginia fans.

Why I participate in track and field…: It helps me improve myself physically as well as mentally
A brief summary of my early athletics history (introduction to the sport, etc): My dad and grandfather were both runners, so I figured I should try it too!
If I could invite someone to dinner, it would be (and why): Justin Timberlake because he is my future husband.
Why Virginia?: It offers division one athletics as well as esteemed academics

Any community service that I do: I have to do five hours of community service with my sorority each semester, we work specifically with Service for Sight and an elderly home.
