The Virginia women’s 4×200 m relay team took second at the Penn Relays today, running a 1:37.71. The Cavaliers finished just behind champion Connecticut, who ran a 1:36.14. In addition, the women’s 4x800m relay team qualified for the ECAC meet, which will be held at Princeton May 10-12. Running today for Virginia in the 3200m relay were Ariane Sloan, Susan Brooks, Danielle Light, Huma Husain, while in the 800m relay Janne’a Bridgeford, Tomika Ferguson, Tiffany Roberts and Talia Wise competed for the Cavaliers.
Virginia will look to qualify more student-athletes for the NCAA and ECAC/IC4A meets next weekend as the team competes at the Cardinal Invitational in Palo Alto. Virginia’s Janine Ricci competed in the steeplechase there in March and ran the nation’s fastest time to date at that competition.
