CLEMSON, S.C. – The Virginia women’s tennis team had its 2007 season come to an end Saturday, with a 4-1 loss to Clemson in an NCAA Tournament second round match at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. It marks the second consecutive year that the Cavaliers fell to a conference rival in the second round of the tournament.
“Our congratulations to out to Clemson,” head coach Mark Guilbeau said. “They have a lot of skill and are an extremely fit team. Those are things are team can learn from. We feel good about the progress we made during the season and took a lot of positives from the last month of the season. We need to start next year better and have the same amount of progress throughout the season, but we feel we are heading in the right direction.”
