Virginia Swimmers Gear Up for U.S. Nationals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia will be represented by three swimming alumni and 24 members of the 2007-08 roster this week at the 2007 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships. The event kicks off Tuesday at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Alumni Fran Crippen (2003-06), Dan DeMarco (2000-03) and Adam Kerpelman (2001-04) are scheduled to compete in the event. Crippen is fresh off his Pan American Games gold medal in the 10K open water event, one of seven events he is set to participate in. DeMarco will join Crippen in the 10K open water event and swim the 1500 freestyle. Kerpelman is schedule to race in the 100 freestyle.
Additionally, 14 men and 10 women from the 2007-08 roster are schedule to compete in the U.S. National Championships. Members of the men’s roster who will participate include Darren Ankosko, John Azar, Tony Colella, Bjorn Falk, Kenton Harris, Daniel Johnson, Matt McLean, Dan McMahon, Pat Reams, Lee Robertson, Scot Robison, Bryan Stahl, Taylor Smith and PJ Sullivan.
Mei Christensen, Claire Crippen, Hannah Davis, Megan Evo, Amanda Faulkner, Ellie Freeman, Claire Galdun, Stephanie Glover, Jess Lewis and Jenn Narum will represent the Cavalier women.
