Charlottesville, VA Fresh off a third-place finish at Florida State’s 12-team Seminole Intercollegiate, the Cavalier men’s golf team goes international this week when it competes at the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
The two-day event, hosted by the St. John’s University, is being played at the 7,117 yard, par-70 Flamboyan course at the Palmas Del Mar Country Club. The opening 36 holes of the tournament will be played beginning Monday at 9:30 a.m. while the event’s final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
The field for the tournament includes Boston College, Bowling Green, Connecticut, Hartford, Kentucky, Johnson and Wales (NAIA), Ohio University, Sacred Heart, St. John’s, St. Thomas Aquinas, South Florida, Villanova and VCU.
Virginia’s lineup will include Steven Rojas, Will Collins, Greg Carlin, Kyle Stough and Conrad Von Borsig. All five players made up UVa’s lineup at Florida State. Rojas finished fifth overall at 4-under 212.
