On Nov. 22, 2002, the Cavaliers played the Lady Monarchs in the opening game at the Ted Constant Convocation Center and prevailed, 63-55.

In games at the NCAA Tournament, Virginia holds a 2-0 record against ODU. In 1996, UVa won, 72-60, at University Hall in Charlottesville in the regional semifinal. Most recently, the Cavaliers defeated ODU in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament, 79-57.

Virginia is making its 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament, a mark that only five other programs have attained.

In all-time games at the NCAA Tournament, Virginia has compiled a 32-21 (.604) mark.

UVa has been a No. 4 seed three times in its history (1989, 1997, 2000). All three of those years, the Cavaliers advanced to the regional semifinals.
