Inglot Named ACC Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year

CHARLOTTESVILLE Dominic Inglot (London, England) was named the 2008 ACC Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year Thursday as conference officials announced the All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis Team. Inglot was named to the academic team for the second consecutive year and was joined on it this year by first-year Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India).
Inglot, who just completed his junior year in UVa’s McIntire School of Commerce, was a standout in the classroom and on the court for the Cavaliers. A 2008 ITA All-American, he was ranked as high as No. 3 nationally in the ITA Rankings this season. He won the ITA Mideast Regional and made his first appearance in the NCAA Singles Championship. He is also a member of the National Society of Scholars.
Singh, who has not yet declared a major, earned All-ACC honors last year as a freshman. He ended the year with a 28-8 singles record, including a 24-5 mark in dual match play.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
