Billie-Jo Grant Qualifies Provisionally for NCAAs

Virginia All-American Billie-Jo Grant qualified provisionally for the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships with her mark of 51’ 9.25” at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 12 in Blacksburg. Grant, who holds the school record with her 52’ 7.5” from last season, finished third in the event and ranked second among collegiate throwers.

Teammate Alexa Manning finished eighth in the event, tossing a 44’ 10.25”.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships will be held at Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Mar. 14-15.
