TULSA, Okla. – Cavalier sophomore Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) had his run at the 2008 ITA All-America Championships come to an end Saturday in the quarterfinals. Shabaz fell to Enrique Oliveras of East Tennessee State 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.
In the singles backdraw, Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.) advanced to the semifinals with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 win over Abdullah Magdas of USC in the quarterfinals. Later in the day, he fell to Raony Carvalho of Texas Tech 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals.
The tournament concludes Sunday at the University of Tulsa.
